Negli ultime due anni, durante il periodo estivo, ho voluto visitare la costa orientale degli Stati Uniti. Sono stato in tantissimi posti, ma penso che la città che mi ha colpito di più sia stata Washington DC.

Probabilmente perchè nostalgico di casa (Italia), Washington mi ha ricordato un po l'Europa.

Edifici non slanciati esageratamente verso il cielo, strade spesso non a griglia e ampi spazi aperti.

La città è ricchissima storia e di cultura. Monumenti e musei (alcuni anche gratuiti) sono veramente in ogni angolo della città. La "Reflecting Pool" penso sia stato il luogo che ha avuto l'impatto più forte per me. Inoltre è davvero emozionante visitare quegli stessi posti dove sono state prese le decisioni più importanti per lo sviluppo di questo nuovo Paese.

La città , come ci si può aspettare, è leggermente cara e nel mese di luglio veramente calda! Un ombrello per il sole potrebbe essere molto utile.

I ristoranti sono tutti di alto livello, si mangia davvero bene.

Un luogo che vi consiglio assolutamente di visitare!!

The last two years, during the summer, I visited the East Coast of the United States. I have been to a lot of places, but I think Washington D.C. was my favorite.

I had been away from my home, in Italy, for over a month and a little homesick but Washington D.C. reminded me of Europe. The buildings are not too tall, the streets didn't follow a grid system and there were a lot of green spaces. The city is full of history, culture, memorials, and museums (some of them are even FREE). The most recognizable and breathtaking site was the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Moreover, visiting the places where some of the most important decisions for the United States had been made is extremely exciting.

The city, as you can imagine, is a bit expensive and very hot in July!! An umbrella might be very helpful if you wanna walk around under the hot sun. Restaurants are all great and the food is amazing.

This is a place that you really should visit!!
